Subject: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Updated: gcc-tools-epoch1-automake-1.9.6-2
Date: Fri, 02 Aug 2013 13:43:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <announce.20130802134150.079E16800BF@frontend2.nyi.mail.srv.osa> (raw)

Gcc requires that an unpatched, pristine version of automake be
used when preparing patches for official submission. For various
reasons [1] these pristine versions cannot coexist with the
existing automake packages in /usr.

gcc-4.3.x and gcc-4.4.x development requires the latest release
in the automake-1.9.x series.

gcc-4.5.x thru gcc-4.8.x development requires the latest release
in the automake-1.11.x series.

This package provides automake-1.9.6 and installs into
/opt/gcc-tools/epoch1/{bin,share} for use when developing
gcc-4.3.x and gcc-4.4.x.

For more information about these new *-epochN packages, see
  http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-announce/2010-01/msg00007.html

Automake is a tool for automatically generating `Makefile.in' files
compliant with the GNU Coding Standards.
