You should really use --libexecdir=/usr/lib for this package. AFAIK
/usr/sbin does not usually contain subdirectories.

from http://cygwin.com/setup.html

--libexecdir=/usr/sbin

:-))

at least gnuplot is also there.

On fedora they are on /usr/libexec/
but there is no such dir in cygwin.

I can move all at the next revision, if the standard
is changed and http://cygwin.com/setup.html
need an update.

Regards
Marco

Since .oct files are just DLLs, should they be treated as such by
cygport (and perhaps rebaseall)?

I assume this is the current standard
http://www.pathname.com/fhs/pub/fhs-2.3.html#USRLIBLIBRARIESFORPROGRAMMINGANDPA

so I will update next revision with
--libexecdir=/usr/lib

I am not sure about what you mean.
Could you clarify a bit?

Thanks
Marco

cygport would:
* strip(1) them before packaging;
* check them with objdump(1) for binary dependencies.

rebaseall would
* rebase them together with other .dll and .so libraries.

strip and dependencies are useful in any case.
Strip seems to reduce the oct around 50% less.

Should I add something to my cygport script, or a
patch to cygport package is needed ?

Regards
Marco

I just committed a patch to cygport CVS, to be part of 0.3.12.
