Subject: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Updated: xorg-server-1.19.0-1 (TEST)
Date: Fri, 18 Nov 2016 15:57:00 -0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <announce.b858ae5b-b5e4-0c9a-418c-99101d6f8100@dronecode.org.uk> (raw)

The following packages have been updated in the Cygwin distribution:

*** xorg-server-*1.19.0-1

These packages contain XWin and the other X.Org X11 servers.

This is the first release of the xserver 1.19 series. It is currently
available as a test release, and will be made stable in a few weeks, if
no major regressions are reported.

Please try test releases and report problems to the Cygwin mailing list.
Testing helps ensure good releases!

In addition to upstream fixes and improvements [1][2][3][4], the
following cygwin-specific changes have been made since 1.18.4-1:

* Fix a performance regression seen with some workloads/video drivers
and -compositewm (the default) in multiwindow mode
* The smartscheduler is now on by default, since the Cygwin bugs which
caused problems with it were fixed long ago. It can be disabled with
-dumbSched
* Remove the build-time requirement for windowswmproto for the removed
experimental -mwextwm mode
* Update the X.Org icon, generated from the X.Org logo SVG.
