Hi Cliff,

Does not work ? It is not available !
clear ist part of the ncurses package, which obiously isn't installed on
your machine.
You could download it 
     - from ftp.franken.de
     - in /pub/win32/develop/gnuwin32/cygwin32/porters/Hirmke_Michael/B20
     - as ncurses-4.2-cygwin-b20-bin.tar.gz
     - or ncurses-4.2-cygwin-b20-bin.zip

Try:
    alias clear='echo -en ^VESCc'

where ^V is Ctrl-V and ESC is the escape key.
