I am using the Sun JDK version 1.4.2_01. I start my Eclipse with this command: ./eclipse/eclipse -vm /usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_01/bin/java and all appears well. I am using the eclipse-SDK-2.1.1-linux-gtk.zip and cdt-full-1.-linux-gtk.zip for the CDT stuff. I put those zip files in my home directory and unzipped them which created an "eclipse" directory in my home directory. How about you? What versions are you running?
