Dear eCos enthusiasts,

The moment you have all been waiting for! The first release of eCos to
the net.

This distribution of eCos comes with everything necessary to develop
eCos based applications, including tools, documentation and complete
sources. Supported hosts include Windows and Linux, and target support
includes Matsushita MN10300, Toshiba TX39 and PowerPC.

The new look http://sourceware.cygnus.com/ecos web site includes the
full eCos 1.1 downloads, latest on-line documentation, problem reporting
page and FAQ. The all important downloading and installation
instructions are covered in the "Getting Started" section. We have also
created the new ecos-discuss mailing list for discussion of all aspects
of eCos by users and contributors. Sign up for this in the "Keeping in
Touch" section.

Check out the companion product web site for eCos located at
http://www.cygnus.com/ecos This includes press releases, brochure,
support information, and other details.

We will be demonstrating eCos 1.1 at the Embedded Systems Conference
West in San Jose CA, November 3rd-5th. If you are attending, stop by the
Cygnus booth for a demo and a chance to meet members of the the eCos
development team.

We look forward to working with you!
The eCos Team
