Subject: eCos enhanced with USB and Intel XScale support
Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2001 10:59:00 -0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3A8C130D.3295B293@redhat.com> (raw)
Red Hat has publically released support for two significant enhancements to
eCos, the Embedded Configurable Operating System.
A port to the Intel XScale(R) IQ80310 Software Development and Processor
Evaluation Kit has been added. Details of this board may be found at
http://developer.intel.com/design/IIO/prodbref/iq80310.htm
The port includes flash and ethernet drivers, and support for RedBoot, Red
Hat's bootstrap firmware. The status of the port is currently beta.
Separately, support has also been added for USB slave devices, including
generic USB support and an additional support package for developing
USB-ethernet and similar peripherals. An initial driver has been included
for the Intel StrongARM SA11x0 on-chip USB device.
Both these developments are currently only available from the public CVS
repository. Information for accessing this repository can be found at
