And in fact the reporter here has posted to that bug: "I have same problem for that what I searched is required to config cygwin in DOX/text mode by default it is in UNIX/Bin mode older version setup 2.51 or so has mode to chose to install cygwin in DOS or UNIX mode but in new version its not has , infect I also serched for old version or how to config cygwin in DOS mode, if you found how to do that please tell me also" It looks like using cygwin in DOS mode is no longer an (easy) option for users.
