Hi developpers,
I am looking for a good RTOS supporting the H8S-CPU. As I saw, eCos seems
to be a good one, and I wish I could deploy it, but it seems only to
support the H8/300. So, does anybody know if this is a big drawback if
I nevertheless would try it on the H8S (compatible) or is it completely
impossible ?
Or can I just startup using eCos on the H8S with less functionality
(by pretending eCos of having a H8/300) and try later in helping you
to migrate eCos towards supporting the H8S ?
I just start using this CPU-type so I dont know anything yet, only
that the H8S is some kind of complexer than the H8300.
Thanks

The H8S is also supported. Maybe you have an old version of eCos. Take
a look at the anonymous cvs version.

Please could you checkout htdocs/contrib.html from anoncvs and send us

Thanks

Hello Marc,
a very well documented port for H8S architecture including a detailed porting guide and a precompiled H8S toolchain is available on my eCos H8S page:
http://www.uk-bluepage.de/ecos
At the moment there are ports for the H8S2357 and H8S2674 variants and the MCU2357 and EDOSK2674 platforms are available for download. A new port for the H8S2638 variant and the EDK2638EX platform is ready but not uploaded yet.
The porting guide will lead you to the porting process of a H8S variant and platform port.
Btw: Would be great if the eCos team could update the link to the H8S EDOSK-2674 port on the Contributions and Third Party Projects page.
Regards,
Uwe Kindler
