I'm in the process of changing from a supported AMD part to what appears
to be a non-supported Spansion part
S29AL032D90FB03 or S29ALXXXD. Is the 29AL family in-the-works? Or
should I just roll up my sleeves and get going?
Thanks.

I think you need to roll up your sleeves.
However, there is support for three chips in the S29GLXXXN family, so
it probably is not too hard.
