I wrote a very simple serial driver for ecosynth using
pseudo terminals. I used the nullmodem utility at
http://www.ant.uni-bremen.de/whomes/rinas/nullmodem/
for pty creation. If this is what you need or you want
to take it from here I can send you the code.
