Hi,

try to set the SO_LINGER option  with setsockopt, e.g:

   struct linger   ling = { 1, 0 };
   if ( setsockopt( sockfd, SOL_SOCKET, SO_LINGER, &ling, sizeof ( ling ) ) < 0)
   {
      // something went wrong, clean up
   }
