Hello,
I am using the graphical GDB Insight and when i download an application Insigt connects to Angel Monitor doesnt it? I can see the differents memory positions, breakpoints etc....I would like to know the real advantage of download redboot.How can i make an .elf or pure binary with ecos?
As you can see i am new with all of this.

gcc produces elf files by default. For other formats you convert the
elf using arm-elf-objcopy.

I have built and linked the examples programs with the configuration that i have done but my questions is when you connect to the board and run the examples i don't know what kind of file is downloaded an .elf file or an executable.
Another question, I am using AT91EB40A with has a ROM monitor (Angel), should i install Redboot or with this bootstrap program is enough?
