Though a driver exists for the Intel 82544 (Gigabit) chipset it seems to be
lacking some support. One part in particular is multicast. Was there any
particular reason it was left out? Has anyone tried implementing it yet? I'm
guessing that it might be a fairly straight forward port from the 82559 code
since the if_i82544.c & if_i82559.c seem fairly similar.

Thanks, Scott

My guess would be that because 99% of applications don't need
multicast support who ever wrote the driver didn't think it was
necassary, at least for there usage.. The main exception is IPv6 which
does require multicast for its address resolution protocols.
