However there has been an impressive amount of interest in this, and a port by Cygnus to embedded x86 systems is now under consideration ( http://sourceware.cygnus.com/ecos/faq.html#porting_will_cygnus ). It should be noted that any such port would only be for the 386 and upwards, not for earlier processors.
