Hi all,

When I add TCP/IP stack package(net-1.0b1.epk) using Package Administration Tool an error occurred:

Command execution error:

extracting pkgadd.db:
/usr/bin/tar:Skipping to next header
/usr/bin/tar:Skipping to next header
/usr/bin/tar:Skipping to next header
/usr/bin/tar:Skipping to next header
/usr/bin/tar:Skipping to next header
/usr/bin/tar:367 garbage bytes ignored at end of archive
/usr/bin/tar:pkgadd.db:Not found in archive
/usr/bin/tar:Error exit delayed from previos errors

Why?

It looks like your tar file is corrupted. Download it again and make sure
you use binary transmission without any conversion or filtering.

It's a common problem. You need to gunzip/untar the file manually and move 
it into your repository. You then need to concatenate pkgadd.db (from this 
tar file) with ecos.db.

You might be better off downloading the latest CVS if you want networking, 
though...

This is a clash with cygwin binary vs. text mode I feel sure, but haven't
had the time to investigate :-(.

You can cheat though - an EPK is just a gzipped tar file. Decompress it
with gzip -d, and extract with tar. You will need to add pkgadd.db to your
ecos.db and the rest in place in your eCos repository.
