i tried with the redboot template for i386pc target..
the floppy boot option is also enabled..
i could successfully build the redboot and got the elf file..
i converted that to bin file using objcopy..
then i loaded into boot sector of the floppy using dd command..
then i loaded the redboot.srec file into tftp server directory..
from gdb i gave the command..
i386-elf-gdb -nw redboot.elf
set remotebaud 38400
target remote com1

connection failed..
what could be the problem..

When the PC boots, does anything appear on the screen? If you use
Hyperterminal to connect to com1, and then reboot the PC, do you see output
there?
