[ECOS] Building eCos on a I686 for a Ix86 Target

Hello,
 
I am sorry to say that I am totally baffled...
 
following the eCos build instructions (Cygwin) step by step I first built gcc (which I only got to compile without the patch) and then attempted to build eCos which now fails as shown below... 
 
Now my question is how DO I get this to work???
 
Any Ideas are welcome!
