An unintended redboot is more likely to simply be some bug in the code you've added. At a guess you probably have a watchdog which is what is actually causing the reboot. Or perhaps for some other reason the watchdog isn't being pinged frequently enough. If/when you find out more, it's probably better to post your queries to the ecos-discuss list, not ecos-maintainers.
