FYI,
I've tweaked the TestRunner output so that, for unresolved tests (i.e.
"broken"), they are reported as:
Running testStepSigRaise(frysk.rt.TestStepping) ...UNRESOLVED
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4237
and then in the summary as:
There was 9 unresolved:
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4237
(each bug is listed once).

As a follow up (I found this didn't quite provide all the information I
was looking for). If << -u >> - run broken or unresolved tests - is
passed to TestRunner then the output is expanded to identify both
unresolved (still failing) and resolved (passing) bugs.
