   Is gas-2.3 only supposed to build with gnu-make?

   Using 4.4 make on a PA I get:

   rm -f bfd.h-new 64 ../include/bfd.h
   grep BFD_HOST_64_BIT sysdep.h > 64 2>/dev/null || exit 0
   *** Error code 1

While I agree with Ken's proposed change, this has to be a bug in the
PA make program.  How can the above expression yield an error status
of anything but zero?
