* ICE in bootstrap build (CVS gcc-2.96 19990706)

I get the following when doing a boostrap build in a clean object
directory:
stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/ -B/usr/i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1/bin/ -c -DIN_GCC -DUSE_GNULIBC_1 -W -Wall -O2 -O3 -march=pentium -funroll-loops -fomit-frame-pointer -fstrict-aliasing -W -Wall -I. -I.. -I../../../egcs/gcc/f -I../../../egcs/gcc/f/.. -I../../../egcs/gcc/f/../config -I../../../egcs/gcc/f/../../include ../../../egcs/gcc/f/com.c
