I'm trying to compile ncurses-5.3 with gcc 3.3 and upon compiling form/frm_driver.c as: gcc 
-DNDEBUG -D_GNU_SOURCE -I. -I../include -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -O3 -fPIC -c 
../form/frm_driver.c , I receive the following error: ../form/frm_driver.c:3093: internal compiler 
error: in remove_edge, at callgraph.c:189 . If I change the compiler option to -O2 instead of -O3 the 
compilation succeeds.

upon closer inspection, it seems to be specific to the way gcc was compiled by my distro provider 
(gentoo) because compiling with a vanilla 3.3 seems to work just fine. Sorry about that
