A darn good argument against introducing extensions as operators! 
 
I think it can be called a regression, since it used to work. I would bet this is introduced 
by the new parser, so I'll tentatively assign it to Mark. He'll know for sure. 
 
I can't help setting this to low priority, though, since I think it's so obscure...
