Hello,

I can confirm that the code in question has not changed on gcc 3.3 and mainline (20030525) so 
the bug has not been fixed.

Many things won't work if you do not have files on your target.
This is not a simple matter of 'disabling', since Ada has requirements
about what is or is not supported.

Changing this to an enhancement.

I can't reproduce this bug, so I'm assuming the new libada has fixed this.
However, the GNAT library needs adaptation for new targets and one cannot
expect to retarget GNAT and have it work out of the box..
It would be nice to have it be configured automatically using autoconf
etc, but this is a huge project and more of an enhancement than a bugfix.
Also, due to the various subtle interactions between threading/tasking/exceptions
and other areas, this goal may not be realistic altogether.
