Many of the files (c files, header files, machine descriptor files, scripts,
etc.) contain a linefeed character at the end of each line.  The presence of
linefeeds makes the building of GCC impossible on build systems other than Windows.

Did you extract the tar.gz file in Windows? If so that is your bug and not ours.

Invalid as I know it works for everyone, you might want to try gnutar when untaring it.
