Only a very minor problem, but I was trapped again...

My locals are set to German so with

make -k check

lots of errors are reported due to compairing
the expected English compiler messages
with the produced German messages.

not hard to guess one needs

LANG="C" make -k check

But I think this should be catched in the makefile

I don't know how portable a LANG="C" in the makefile
would be, but else you should at least mention resetting
the locals in the installation guide - maybe for the
whole building-test-installation process.

(And maybe similar in the bugreporting instructions)
