I'm trying to unpack gcc-3.4.1.tar.bz2 on an hpux 11.00 system.

  /opt/gnu/bin/bunzip2 -c /home/mec/pristine/gcc-3.4.1.tar.bz2 | /usr/bin/tar xf -

I get errors on the @LongLink files:

tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create
tar: ././@LongLink - cannot create

@LongLink is a gnu extension for files whose names are more than 100 characters.
gcc 3.3.4 had no such files, but gcc 3.4.1 has some of these files.

The hpux tar version is:

/usr/bin/tar:
         $Revision: 82.4.1.3 $
         PATCH_11_00: tar.o 99/09/02

'tar tf' on hpux shows nine @LongLink entries:

Workaround is to use gnu tar to unpack the archive.  Or, if you must use hpux
tar, then ignore the error during unpacking and don't run the C++ test suite.
