after a successful gmake bootstrap on IRIX 5.3 a consequent gmake check ends up with:

/usr/people/schwarz/gccb is the build directory.  ibg2c.so.1 is in fact at /usr/people/schwarz/gccb/mips-sgi-irix5.3/libf2c/.libs/libg2c.so.1

This was already as will not fix (in fact it was your bug which was filed).  This is a will not fix for all of 
3.4.x releases.
