I tried to build a gcc-3.4-20050408 cross compiler for a
powerpc-aix5.2 system, and I got the following:

gcc   -O9 -DIN_GCC -DCROSS_COMPILE  -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long    -DHAVE_CONFIG_H  gcov-dump.o
version.o ../libiberty/libiberty.a   -o gcov-dump
gcc -c -O9     -mminimal-toc -gnatpg -gnata -I- -I. -Iada
-I/home/ltg/software/src/work/gcc-3.4-20050408/gcc/ada
/home/ltg/software/src/work/gcc-3.4-20050408/gcc/ada/ada.ads -o ada/ada.o
gnat1: error: invalid option `minimal-toc'
make[1]: *** [ada/ada.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ltg/software/src/work/objdir/gcc'
make: *** [all-gcc] Error 2
