I agree, this is another possible workaround -
more cumbersome than the one I mentioned,
in cases where there are large numbers of arguments
(as in the program where I originally encountered this problem).
My posting was mostly intended to draw attention
to a possible compiler bug. Maybe it helps
making a great compiler even better.
