It is unexpected to me. X86 doesn't do it under 3 different compilers (one of which is GCC). I understand why under ARM it does it at the assembly level. I'm completely new to Linux, and this bug reporting mechanism. Although I'm an old Unix hand from 1983... it's all coming back to me now. <grin> So please bear with me!
