Note: For arrays, the following block of trans-expr.c is used:

              /* If an ALLOCATABLE dummy argument has INTENT(OUT) and is
                 allocated on entry, it must be deallocated.  */
              if (fsym && fsym->attr.allocatable
                  && fsym->attr.intent == INTENT_OUT)
