Host machine is i686 running Linux 2.6.31.6-145.fc12.i686.PAE Get the dreaded "checking for suffix of object files... configure: error: cannot compute suffix of object files: cannot compile See `config.log' for more details." message. Looking at config.log (in powerpc-linux-gnu/libgcc), I find a message telling me to report the segmentation fault of as. So, I'm doing it. What a pain it is to build GCC for this target. Any help is greatly appreciated. -- Summary: xgcc: Internal error: Segmentation fault (program as) Product: gcc Version: 4.3.4 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P3 Component: target AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org ReportedBy: mark at advancedtechcorp dot com GCC build triplet: i686-pc-linux-gnu GCC host triplet: powerpc-linux-gnu GCC target triplet: powerpc-linux-gnu http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=42287 ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 5+ messages in thread

I read the instructions in the config log that stated: "Please submit a full bug report. See <http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions". So, looking at that page it says: "Where to post it" Please submit your bug report directly to the "GCC bug database". And the GCC bug database link points to http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/ I guess I misread something. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=42287 ^ permalink raw reply [flat|nested] 5+ messages in thread
