Summary: Wrong name of a programming language used
           Product: gcc
           Version: unknown
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: web
        AssignedTo: unassigned@gcc.gnu.org
        ReportedBy: tg@mirbsd.org

Hi,

both http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.6/changes.html and
today’s http://gcc.gnu.org/index.html#news pretend
GCC has gained support for the Go programming lan-
guage, whereas it has only gained support for the
Google-Go programming language instead, according
to what I read.

Please see (I hate to point to Wikipedia, but that’s
illustrating the problem) the information at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go!_(programming_language)
and correct the attribution. The Go language not in
GCC has been around far longer and as such earlier
naming rights, and it’s wrong for the FSF / GCC-SC
to follow a vendor’s attempt of this hostile takeover.

Thanks in advance!
