I haven't tried to bootstrap that rev yet, but I agree, that same symbol in two
versions is the culprit.

Benjamin, is this an oversight that gld accepts silently?

By the way, a couple of weeks ago I'm pretty sure to have read mentioned a
small glitch in the linker script, revealed by a warning which doesn't show up
with gld. If I'm able to find the details, I'll tell you... Not strictly
related to this BUG, to be clear, it's much older, but I would ask people using
ld != gld to watch out for warnings at build time, help fixing issues...

Confirmed.  The obvious patch of removing the second __cxa_get_exception_ptr in
the CXXABI_1.3.6 version works.

Before that change, I've verified that the symbol is in the CXXABI_1.3.1
version
on x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.

Really strange: a bootstrap of r180087 just failed for me in the same
way, and none of the patches since last week even remotely touched the
affected area.
