When there's a problem during LTRANS (in my cases ICE, but could be something
else) the temporary LTO files in TEMPDIR do not always seem to get
cleaned up. Since they can be fairly large this can lead to filled up
/ file systems and other problems when they accumulate.
Not sure who is supposed to clean this up. The driver or the lto plugin?

It's lto-wrapper that is supposed to cleanup the ltrans.o files generated by
WPA stage. Maybe you mean different files though?

I'm not 100% sure which stage generates them, but I have lots of
cc*.o and some others (.res etc.) left over after the LTRANS failure.
After two failures in a row i always have a full /.

cc*.o files are supposed to be cleaned up by the driver(s). Are you sure
you are not using -save-temps? ;)

You would need to debug this then - generally the drivers clean up after
them (and I remember testing this, at least for the non-failing case ...)
