The problem was I was using the rpm packages from perlz.org for mpfr,gmp and libmpc. Both gmp 4.3.2 and 5.0 gave me the gcc errors. But when compiling the on my own machine gcc finally worked. I will write further to Michael for gcc configuration. Thanks
