Bug #: 57076
Summary: @ in the src directory name causes failure while
building of gcc.info
Classification: Unclassified
Product: gcc
Version: 4.7.0
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: build
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: bootstrap
AssignedTo: unassigned@gcc.gnu.org
ReportedBy: pinskia@gcc.gnu.org
While doing a build where the src directory name contains a @, the build fails:
makeinfo --split-size=5000000 --no-split -I . -I
/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS@2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc/doc
\
-I
/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS@2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc/doc/include
-o doc/gcc.info
/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS@2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc/doc/gcc.texi;
\
fi
/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS@2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc/doc//invoke.texi:1445:
Unknown command `2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc'.
/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS@2/toolchain/scripts/../src/gcc/doc//invoke.texi:1444:
@include
`/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/BuildToolchainMIPS/../libiberty/at-file.texi': No
such file or directory.
I don't think there is anything that can be done on the GCC side though.

--- Comment #1 from Andreas Schwab <schwab@linux-m68k.org> 2013-04-26 10:15:31 UTC ---
The rule to generate gcc-vers.texi needs to replace @ by @@ when writing out
the definition of srcdir.

Quoting the @ into @@ in gcc-vers.texi does work:

I've tested this in a build with a source directory with @ in it. It fixes the
build, and produce correct documentation.
