Apparently the symbol gets a ts.type of BT_INTEGER somewhere (indepedent of the type of 'nargs'). It also happens for the following variant: implicit none Intrinsic :: command_argument_count print *, command_argument_count() End Doing the same thing with a different intrinsic like 'cos' does not give the warning: Intrinsic :: cos print *, cos(0.) End
