You'll see there is a patch there to alleviate this issue, but I couldn't manage to get it approved and now I don't have the time to invest on this issue. If y= ou want to see this fixed, your best option is to adopt the patch, update it, = test it and try to get it approved. Comparisons with how Clang and other compile= rs behave would be useful but they should not be the basis of your argumentati= on. When arguing for a change, try to be smart and see the point of view of the other side and address that convincingly. >>From gcc-bugs-return-498947-listarch-gcc-bugs=gcc.gnu.org@gcc.gnu.org Wed Oct 07 10:09:46 2015 Return-Path: Delivered-To: listarch-gcc-bugs@gcc.gnu.org Received: (qmail 18480 invoked by alias); 7 Oct 2015 10:09:46 -0000 Mailing-List: contact gcc-bugs-help@gcc.gnu.org; run by ezmlm Precedence: bulk List-Id: List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: Sender: gcc-bugs-owner@gcc.gnu.org Delivered-To: mailing list gcc-bugs@gcc.gnu.org Received: (qmail 18118 invoked by uid 48); 7 Oct 2015 10:09:42 -0000 From: "redi at gcc dot gnu.org" To: gcc-bugs@gcc.gnu.org Subject: [Bug libstdc++/67843] experimental/filesystem/iterators/directory_iterator.cc fails on armv5t Date: Wed, 07 Oct 2015 10:09:00 -0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: CC X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: gcc X-Bugzilla-Component: libstdc++ X-Bugzilla-Version: unknown X-Bugzilla-Keywords: X-Bugzilla-Severity: normal X-Bugzilla-Who: redi at gcc dot gnu.org X-Bugzilla-Status: UNCONFIRMED X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: P3 X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: redi at gcc dot gnu.org X-Bugzilla-Target-Milestone: --- X-Bugzilla-Flags: X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Bugzilla-URL: http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-SW-Source: 2015-10/txt/msg00502.txt.bz2 Content-length: 494 https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=67843 --- Comment #4 from Jonathan Wakely --- Running this under valgrind I see 900+ errors, the first 100 seem to be from the global strings in the libstdc++-v3/testsuite/util/testsuite_fs.h file (I think). All the errors are basically nonsense, reporting errors in getpid() and mkstemp() and things that are very unlikely to be broken, so either that executable is horribly miscompiled or valgrind is useless with it.
