Error

I got an upgrade in AIX server i.e. 7.1 with the DB2 version 9.5. Whenever we
complied a legacy C code in previous AIX server i.e 5.3 with Db2 version 9.5
and GCC version 2.9 it worked fined.

But now i am facing issues in compling.It is very critical for my project to
solve this..

Sounds like you don't know that string is now in the std namespace.  Either add
"using std::string;" after the include of string.h or change all references to
string to std::string.

You need to figure out where LogFile is defined and compile that c++ file too.

This is not a GCC bug but rather an issue with your code.
If you want to ask C++ questions it is best to ask on a different place than
here.  Also how to use gcc it would be best to ask on gcc-help@gcc.gnu.org
rather than in a bug report.

Thans for the quick reply. The code is perfectly fine as it was workinng as i
mentioned earlier

But after the upgrade only it started throwing the error.

I tried repalcing char * with string in the log.cpp..but again it left me some
other errors

well GCC 2.9 was not standard complaint with respect of C++ STL so the string
class was not part of the std namespace.  But that changed with 3.0 which was
over 10 years ago now.  Again this is not a question about a GCC bug but rather
a standard C++ question.
