I am seeing this with gcc-7 on SUSE Linux Enterprise 15. Can this fix be
backported to gcc-7 and gcc-8 as well?

As far as upstream is concerned, < 11 is EOL, but if you file a bug on the suse
side, maybe they'd be willing to do it.

That's what I'm already doing. gcc-7 is the default compiler in SLE-15.

Update is on the way, although it'll take a little longer until SLE-15 picks it
up.
