By default, long double on AIX is the same as double (64 bits).  One option=
ally
can specify 128 bit long double and link with libc128.a to provide long dou=
ble
stdio.

AIX float.h:
#define DECIMAL_DIG        37

I'm perfectly okay with libstdc++ skipping this test on AIX.  I don't know =
how
you want to skip it.  I would suggest

dg-require-effective-target longdouble128=20

Or you can skip the portions of the test that expect DECIMAL_DIG > 37.=
