* crosscompiler for mips32

Hi all
I am having some difficulty building the crosscompiler for
the --target=mipsisa32
the configure is:
... m:/cygwin/gnutools/build-gcc
$ ../gcc/configure --target=mipsisa32-elf --prefix=/bintools -v
the binutils are the latest from the cvs : binutils-020206.tar dated 6 feb
(today)
yesterday's version produced a linker error but this one worked without
error
the make stops with the following message:
...
mkdir soft-float/el/mips64
mkdir libgcc/soft-float/el/mips64
xgcc: installation problem, cannot exec `mips-tfile': No such file or
directory
make[2]: *** [libgcc/./_m16addsf3.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [stmp-multilib] Error 2
make: *** [all-gcc] Error 2
the error seems to be mips related , can someone help please????
