Hi All,

I am building gcc on our tool server which provides software for all
our engineers. They work on many different platforms, and have
solaris workstations that run 2.5.1, 2.6, or 2.7.  I figured I could
build gcc for 2.5.1, and use this for 2.6 and 2.7, since there is
(we hope) binary compatibility on the later versions.

When I finished building and installing gcc on the 2.5.1 machine, I
noticed in the install directory an include directory under a
directory called sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1. There is also a copy of
the gcc binary in the bin called sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1-gcc.

Did I specify the wrong settings during the config?

beavis{Tools}% more config.status
#!/bin/sh
# This file was generated automatically by configure. Do not edit.
# This directory was configured as follows:
../gcc-2.95.1/configure --with-gcc-version-trigger=/tooldist/Tools/src/gcc-2.95.
1/gcc/version.c --host=sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1 --prefix=/tooldist/local --with-lo
cal-prefix=/tooldist/local --with-gxx-include-dir=/tooldist/local/include/g++ --
norecursion
# using "mh-frag"

Is the include directory under sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1 necessary?
How about the binary sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1-gcc.

Thanks in advance!

Tim
