Am having problems with gcc on a sparc5, don't generally compile much, so am
not that familiar with the workings of gcc.
Anyway, I cannot compile a thing, an attempted ssh install finds gcc, then
reports it's not working, other messages have inluded
'gcc cannot create executables'
cannot exec
Are their any config issues, version is 2.8 installed from a sunfreeware
solaris package. It's installed to /usr/local/bin/gcc.
Env CC = gcc
This is all happenning during 'configure', have yet to get further than
that, have tried later versions, as reading groups have revealed concerns
over 2.8. Having had a good read, then trawled thru old newsgroups I'm no
closer to sorting this out. Am at my wits end, & any help would be most
gratefull, thanks in advance.
