Hi,
In the last few months I downloaded several software packages which should be
compiled with gcc and -of course- linked. The problem is, none of these
programs compile correctly or are linked in a wrong way. The last program I
tried was "Cilk", which tests the gcc version and linker, and my
compiler/linker combination did not pass the test. The message was, that I use
a faulty compiler, or that my linker is not installed correctly. I use RedHat
6.0, with different compilers (egcs, gcc-2.7.x). The program also says, that
gcc-2.8.x. has a bug. Is this correct ? Is there a test to be sure that the
default compiler and linker are installed correctly and used in a proper way ?
