If I put the full pathname to the static library (libc.a) it does link it in, however it also links in the dynamic version (libc.so). Is this a bug? Is this why my program crashes before it gets to main()? In case you're wondering, libc.a contains "xstat", libc.so does not. Thank you for any insight!!! - Andy P.S. If there is a libc.so that does contain the xstat definition (text segment) I'd appreciate knowing what version, that might also be an acceptable way to get over this particular hump.
