Hola!
Im trying to install gcc-2.95.3 to a separate partition which is mounted in /tmp/newinstall . This will later on be / on a new system. Everything works but when i chroot into /tmp/newinstall it looks for headers in the wrong directory (namely /tmp/newinstall/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i585-linux-gnu/gcc-2.95.3/include/). I dont know what configure or make options to actually use for gcc to understand that /tmp/newinstall will be / ...
In my install script now i have "make prefix=$newinstall/usr local_prefix=$newinstall/usr gxx_include_dir=$newinstall/usr/include/g++ include_dir=$newinstall/usr/include/ install . I found some of these in the LFS and some on some page on the gcc site. If someone could tell me what im doing wrong i would be very happy about it.
Oh, btw, if i set up a link in the chroot environment so that /tmp/newinstall points to "/" it does work but i want to solve this for real...
Yours sincerely,
